POETRY READINGS—Poet Jerry Ellis gave readings of his original works at the recent open house for the Francis Creative Arts Center. Ellis does readings regularly on Tuesdays at Barista's.

GOURMET DESSERTS—A chocolate fountain was a popular draw at the dessert table for the opening of the Francis Creative Arts Center, located on the corner of Maple Avenue and Washington Street in New Martinsville.

FULL HOUSE--John Mensore
entertained a full house of more than 100 at the first of five Thursday evening Coffee House performances at the Francis Creative Arts Center. Scheduled for the lawn, the event was driven inside after heavy rains came shortly before the concert started.  The weather didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the audience however.  Refreshments were provided by Lucille Blum.
